Perfect Pan Seared Scallops

These pan-seared scallops are incredibly flavorful and quick to make. A perfect dish for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

  • 1 pound dry sea scallops
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Lemon wedges Optional: for serving

Method
 

  1. Pat the scallops completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the scallops generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Place the scallops in the hot pan, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  5. Sear the scallops for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden-brown.
  6. Remove the scallops from the pan and serve immediately. Garnish with lemon wedges, if desired.

Notes

Make sure the pan is hot before adding the scallops to get a good sear.
