Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 ounces spaghetti
Meat and Sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
Cheeses
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Garnish
  • optional Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook spaghetti until al dente, then drain.
  2. Brown ground beef with chopped onion and garlic. Add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer briefly.
  3. Mix cooked spaghetti with ricotta, salt, and pepper. Layer half in a greased dish, top with meat sauce and cheeses, then repeat layers.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until bubbly and golden. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, add an extra layer of cheese or a splash of milk to the ricotta mixture.
