Ingredients
  

Hummus Ingredients
  • 230 g canned chickpeas drained and washed (save 30 g for the topping)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tahini sesame paste
  • 30 ml extravirgin olive oil
  • 45 ml hot water
  • 45 ml lemon juice
  • salt
  • pepper
Toppings (Optional)
  • zahatar
  • toasted sesame seeds
  • black sesame seeds
  • sumac
  • parsley
Serving
  • Pita bread
  • fresh veggies

Method
 

  1. Drain, rinse, and remove the skin from the chickpeas.
  2. Process chickpeas, garlic, and water in a food processor for 30 seconds.
  3. Add tahini, salt, and lemon juice; process until smooth. Add olive oil and mix for 10 seconds.
  4. Spoon hummus onto a plate, add olive oil, chickpeas, and toppings.

Notes

For a smoother hummus, blend the tahini with lemon juice before adding the chickpeas.
